"This summer I spent my time working for DCC Marketing. DCC Marketing is an Interactive 'Marketing' Agency. It is a mid-sized, mid-western value that gives big city service without a big city price tag. They do public relations, advertising, strategic planning, and web development. Since my major is Communication with and emphasis in Public Relations, this was a great learning opportunity for me. The working environment I was in was very accepting, I felt welcomed and not overwhelmed. My boss, Chris was an inspiration. She helped me out so much by explaining things thoroughly.  She always had a huge to do list but it never fazed her to take the time to look at my press releases. I was extremely nervous to do a press release for a client because I was afraid of not writing it properly, but as time went on I felt more comfortable. Throughout my internship I also made many phone calls contacting organizations, receiving information about events, pictures, etc. to put in brochures and releases. I found it very easy to communicate with clients especially because they all were patient with me while learning about the job. Not only did I do things for Chris but also I helped out others in the office. I worked on Social Media (Facebook and Twitter) with Ryan, the account coordinator, on updating information for clients and advertising. My favorite part was working with a program called, Create and Send, a program similar to Twitter but specifically for businesses to post special news and funny quotes. Throughout this internship, I have gained more confidence in myself and I can comfortably say "I am a leader and a hard worker. The whole experience was great and I can't wait to see what's  next."
