SPS Meeting, February 25, 2009
At our bi-monthly meeting we only had a few meeting minutes. Some more information was distributed concerning High School Physics Day and some more Spring Break plans were finalized. Then we built some gliders to throw off the roof of the science building. Congratulations to member, Bill Kersten for designing the glider that flew the farthest!
Homecoming PON and Class of 1983 Reunion - October 11th, 2008
October is shaping up to be a busy month for the Society of Physics Students. On Saturday, we opened up Requarth Observatory and hosted the Class Reunion of 1983 as well as anyone else who wanted to participate in the Homecoming Festivities. Former Millikin students got the opportunity to see the “new” science building and explore the beauty of the universe through our 0.5 meter scope and series of portable telescopes. A very special thanks goes Dr. Dan Miller for arranging and handling all the details of this event.
Meet & Greet Picnic, August 27th, 2008
What better way to start off the school year than a BBQ? That is exactly what the Society of Physics Students, SPS, did to relax after the first two days of classes and to get to know one another better. A short walk over to Fairview Park provided the perfect setting for hanging out and having fun. Almost everyone was able to make it and enjoy the hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and cookies as well as the ever popular crazy stories that our professors tell. A special thanks goes out to the mystery benefactor that reserved the park shelter for us. Thanks!
