Millikin University High School Honor Band

The Millikin High School Honor Band is comprised of the best area high school students, nominated for participation by their directors. To nominate students, please email Dr. Neal Smith,
nsmith@millikin.edu. (Nominations will only be accepted via email.) Please nominate up to 5 students and include student's instrument, year in school, participation in District and All-State Festivals, solo and ensemble or other similar honors.
The Honor Band will rehearse from 9 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013. Student accepted must be available for the entire day. Fee per student for participation is $15, which includes lunch at the Millikin University cafeteria. The Honor Band will be conducted by Dr. Gary Shaw and Dr. Smith. Additional information will be posted this summer.

Millikin High School Band Festival

9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
This is a non competitive event for high school bands. Each band will perform for 20 minutes on the Kirkland Fine Arts Center stage and then receive a 20 minute clinic with one of our adjudicators. Fee for the Festival is $35 per band. Students each pay $8, which includes lunch at the Millikin cafeteria. The Millikin Wind Ensemble will perform under the direction of Dr. Gary Shaw.
