Griswold Physical Education Center
Griswold Physical Education Center serves as the primary center of activity for Exercise Science & Sport as well as the university’s athletics programs. The upper level entrance faces Oakland Street. Visitors enter a lobby area that serves as the nucleus of the Center, which consists of academic classrooms, faculty, coaching and secretarial offices and the athletic gymnasium.
The lower level entrance into Griswold Center serves as the funnel to the Athletic Training Room/office and the locker rooms. The Griswold Gymnasium seats up to 4,000 people for athletic competitions. The Exercise Science Lab in Room 226 of the upper level serves as critical laboratory and classroom space for all Exercise Science courses.
Located within the Griswold Physical Education Center, the Athletic Training facilities provide a complete 1500-square-foot facility for academic and hands-on education. Faculty offices and student work areas are part of the facility, which was completed in 1996.
Areas have been designated for taping, treatment, first aid and rehabilitation. Many Exercise Science & Sport classes take place in these areas, which were designed to replicate professional athletic training departments. The facilities are used as athletic training rooms for the university’s teams.
Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC)
Located on the south side of campus, the DISC was a joint venture of the Decatur Park District and Millikin University. It houses track, baseball, softball, volleyball, golf and soccer indoor practice facilities as well as cardiovascular and strength training equipment. In addition, Millikin’s intramural sports take place in the DISC. For details, see http://www.millikin.edu/sites/athletics/Pages/Facilities.aspx
