Q. How many semesters would I have to study at the ELC before enrolling as a full-time, degree-seeking student at Millikin?
A. This depends on what level (1-4) you are placed at when you arrive at the ELC. For instance, if you are placed at Level 2, you would spend 3 semesters in the ELC.
Q. Who are the ELC teachers?
A. ELC teachers have a master's degree (MA) in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) or a related field. They also have numerous years of teaching experience in the U.S. and/or other countries.
Q. What is the average class size at the ELC?
A. The average class size is 4 students.
Q. Does the ELC prepare me for the TOEFL test?
A. No, not directly. ELC students are conditionally admitted to Millikin University, where they will enroll as degree-seeking students. Millikin does not require a TOEFL score from an ELC student who successfully completes our highest level (Level 4).
