Areas Of Professional Interest: My doctoral dissertation, "Infusing HIV/AIDS issues into the baccalaureate curriculum: Faculty Participation" explored the HIV/AIDS educational efforts that occurred in institutions of higher education. Specifically, the purpose of the study was to identify the curricular and instructional beliefs, motivations, and decision-making practices of baccalaureate faculty members that influence whether or not they infuse AIDS/HIV issues into their courses.
Present Activities: The 2006-2007 academic year began with an academic restructuring within the University. The College of Professional Studies was established and the Dean of the School of Nursing, Dr. Kathy Booker, was selected to serve as its first Dean. Oversight of the School of Nursing now falls under the academic umbrella of the College of Professional Studies. As the new director, I will assume most of the responsibilities previously held by the Dean of the School of Nursing.
