Dr. Randy M. Brooks, Acting Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and Professor of English, received his Ph.D. from Purdue University with a concentration in rhetoric and professional writing. His areas of academic research include professional writing curriculum, rhetorical theory, web publishing, book publishing, and Japanese poetry. From 1990 until 2008, he was the director of the English Writing Major. He is a proponent of active learning and encourages all Millikin students to perform their knowledge in public arenas in order to make a contribution beyond themselves. He was a founding member of the student book publishing company, Bronze Man Books.
