Entrepreneurship Across Campus
What is entrepreneurship across campus?
Millikin's Center for Entrepreneurship is dedicated to the idea that Entrepreneurship is not just for business majors. Through our Cross-Campus Initiative, we work to promote Entrepreneurship in all areas of study.
At the center of this Initiative is our Faculty Fellows in Entrepreneurship program. Self-identified faculty members from all areas of study seek out and apply for grant dollars from The Coleman Foundation through the Center for Entrepreneurship. If awarded, this grant money goes towards the development or reworking of a course to incorporate entrepreneurship education.
In some instances, this program spawns new Student-run Businesses. In other examples, the grant is used to bring in industry professionals for lectures and workshops open to the entire campus. Some faculty use the grant dollars to simply develop a more intensive and intentional course within their department focused on owning and operating one's own business.
The theory behind our Cross-Campus Initiative is that by planting a seed of entrepreneurship within each department, a campus-wide entrepreneurial spirit blossoms across the entire campus creating a community of creativity and innovation.
