Entrepreneurship at Millikin: Fall 2011 Edition

"Can you really explain to a fish what it's like to walk on land? One day on land is worth a thousand years of talking about it, and one day running a business has exactly the same kind of value."
- Warren Buffett
A Note from the Director
The Center for Entrepreneurship at Millikin University has been engaged in developing opportunities for our students to experience ownership "up close and personal." Presently, our students are running an art gallery, a record label, fine art printing studio and a theatre company. While these student ventures give them real life experiences of paying sales tax, figuring product costs and marketing a product or service, the real value is recognized when they build their own entrepreneurial ventures.
This newsletter features the many ways in which our students are performing early and often by turning their passion into opportunity, marshaling resources and taking the risk on the pathway to ownership.
