The Leadership Academy is:

• leadership development program
• open to all students
• multi-semester program
• personalized program
• curricular and co-curricular

The Leadership Academy is structured around three components:

1. Awareness and Development

• Self-awareness of leadership skills through assessment
• A Personal Growth Plan - a detailed plan of how you will develop leadership skills
• Code of Personal Ethics

2. Engagement

• Curriculum focused upon leadership knowledge and skill development. Example courses include "Create & Lead" and "Communication & Conflict."
• Workshops on leadership offered by the Leadership Academy
• Leadership roles with demonstrated value-added activities

3. Reflection

• Written reflections on leadership challenges, lessons learned, and area of leadership growth
• Coaching and Mentoring
• Compilation of Portfolio exhibiting leadership roles

Upon Completion of the Leadership Academy, students will have:

• Demonstrated personal development in his or her leadership skills
• Contributed to the University and/or the community beyond Millikin
• A certificate in Leadership Development awarded by the Tabor Leadership Academy
