Download a copy of these sub-committee process & timing guidelines.

(Nov-Dec, 2005) •  Create "study guide" questions: Determine the questions that need to be answered for us to know the degree to which we comply with and have an institutional commitment to each key component of the criterion. You will likely have several "study guide" questions for each of the key components. Dowload a copy of the Study Guide Questions Template (doc) or (Excel version).

(Feb-March, 2006) •  Identify data needs: Determine what pieces of information or data are needed to answer the question. You will likely need multiple data sources to answer each question.

(Feb-March, 2006) •  Obtain data: Determine whether or not we already systematically collect that data. If so, retrieve it for use. If not, work with others around campus to determine how we might generate the needed information and obtain the information needed.

(April-May, 2006) •  Summarize data: Prepare narrative, table, or graphs, etc. as appropriate.

(April-May, 2006) •  Review and conduct "gap analysis": Compare MU data to best practices or benchmarks (utilize established professional standards, data from peer and aspiration institutions, or institutional goals as benchmarks, as appropriate)

(June, 2006) •  Write self-study committee report. Download a sub-committee report guide.
