Overview
The goals of this session will be two fold: first, to demonstrate a
few of the more popular HTML authoring utility software, and second, to
compare some the more essential features of these available programs. Time
permitting PageMill, FrontPage, HomePage and HotMetalPro will be demonstrated;
all of which are available for both the Macintosh and Windows platforms.
Participants will not be expected to learn how to use any of these systems,
but should be able to recognize advantages and limitations of the selected
packages. The majority of the time in this enrichment session will be spent
demonstrating the creation of one or two small "understandable"
pages via these different software programs. As a result of this session,
participants will be able to:
- decide whether to use a word processor or an authoring system as your
HTML editor of choice,
- recognize the similarities and differences between Macintosh and "Windows"
operating system HTML editors,
- compare several of the popular HTML authoring system editors, and
- decide which HTML editor might best suit your needs.
