FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)What if I forget my User ID/password or my User ID/password doesn't work? A: Your User ID was listed at the top of a letter you should have received about Milli-Link XP. Please make sure you are typing your ID correctly. Both your User ID and PIN (password) are case-sensitive. If your User ID number is less than 8 digits in length, you will need to add zeros to the front of the number until it is 8 chararacters long. For example, a User ID number of 123456 should be typed in as 00123456. If you are a first-time user, your PIN is your birth date in day, month and year order (as DDMMYY, for example, Aug. 4, 1965 should be listed as 040865). You are then instructed to change your password to one of your choice. If you still cannot access Milli-Link XP, call 1-877-JMU-ALUM (locally, dial 424-6383). Why was I immediately asked to change my birth date PIN to a new one after I logged in for the first time? A: To keep the directory as secure as possible, it is best if your PIN (password) is one you have created so it is completely private. It can be any combination of letters, numbers or characters, but it must be at least 6 character long. I don't want to be included in Milli-Link XP. How can I be removed? A: To remove yourself from the directory, send an e-mail to alumnews@millikin.edu or mail a written request to: Milli-Link XP Please remember: If you are not listed in the directory, you will not be included in lists gathered for alumni events, such as homecoming class reunions. Why can't I find a classmate? A: Make sure you are typing his or her name correctly. If there are no spelling errors, try broadening your search criteria. If you still cannot find a classmate, it is possible that he or she may have requested to be removed from the directory. I want some, but not all, of my information displayed. A: Click on Your Directory Profile. Review your entry and select the items you would like displayed in the directory. Any boxes that are checked indicate information that will be shared. Uncheck any boxes that accompany information you would like to keep confidential. Can I submit class notes for the Millikin Quarterly through Milli-Link XP? Yes. Click on Update Work & Other Information. This form allows you to submit job updates, marriage and birth announcements and general class notes for inclusion in the magazine. I updated my work information but the changes aren't showing up. A: Changes made to work information take about one week to process and appear in the system. Please note: Work updates must be made manually by our staff and are not "live." Because of the volume of updates we are receiving from alumni right now, please check back in a week or two to make sure your work information has been updated in the directory.
