BLUE
SKIES AT THE BIG BLUE
Homecoming was less than two weeks ago and we're still sorting
through all the photos, but click here
to see a few shots taken under the sunny blue skies that
graced Homecoming 2003. And we hope you'll give us your
feedback about the weekend by filling out a short survey.
It will help us in planning next year's reunion, especially
for those classes ending in 4 or 9.
WHAT DID THEY FIND INSIDE?
What was inside a copper box that had been welded shut and
placed inside Millikin's cornerstone? University Archivist
Susan Avery knows, and she's not afraid to tell you.

SPOOKY
DELIGHTS
FOR LITTLE TYKES
The Residential Housing
Association (RHA) hosts Trick or Treat in the Halls Wednesday,
Oct. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Families with children age 10 and
under should come to the Lindsay Schaub and Wood rooms in
Richards Treat University Center for games before they are
escorted to go trick or treating in the residence halls.
"This is a safe environment for your children," says
Paul Lidy, RHA president.
IT'S
NOT SCARY.
In fact, it's downright easy. If you know of high school
students who have begun their college search this fall,
there's an easy way for you to introduce them to Millikin:
Refer a Friend. Click here
to fill out a simple form and we'll begin sending them info
about Millikin. And who knows? They may make a lifetime of
memories, find good friends and receive a great education --
hopefully, just like you did!
IT'S A SHOCKER!
Unbelievable. Last month,
for the first time ever, no one correctly answered our trivia
question. The answer? Carl Head was the professor first
credited with using the term "Big Blue" and 1916 was
the year that term was first used.
Since no prizes
were given out last month, we
have an extra special surprise prize for this month's
winners. Ready?
According to
legend, the former Zeta Tau Alpha House (now home to the Alumni
and Development Center) is haunted by a ghost who likes to
slam doors and stomp up and down the stairs (sounds more like
a teenager to me). What did the former sorority residents in
the house nickname the so-called spooky spirit?
A) Batty Betty
B) Sylvia
C) Louise
D) Headless Nick
E) Virginia
