despite food poisoning,
women share crown.
Despite
a severe case of food poisoning that laid low almost the
entire team the night before a big game, the Big Blue Women's
basketball team walked away winners at the Clarke College
holiday tournament. The Big Blue was to have faced perennial
CCIW foe Augustana College in the championship game, but the
Vikings gamely agreed to a compromise and the two teams left
as co-champions. The two teams meet again at 7:30 p.m., Jan.
27, in Griswold Physical Education Center.

EDUCATION
GRADUATES,
If
you earned a degree in education and have a credential file
established with the Career & Experiential Education
Center that has been inactive for five years or more –
it’s time to update. Files over five years old are considered outdated, as
prospective employers typically require more current
information from job candidates. MORE
IT'S
T-T-T-TRIVIA
T-T-TIME.
We're stammering
because the boiler that heats the Alumni Center is in the
process of being replaced and it's getting a little
ch-ch-chilly in here! Hopefully, the heat will be back on
soon. In the meantime, our thoughts have turned to warm woolen
mittens and --oh yes!--heat, as you'll see in this month's
trivia contest.
Last month's winners correctly answered 6,312
to the question of how many tickets were sold at this year's
Vespers performances. They are:
Robin
Shasteen Sesko '83, Linda
Carter Ellerman '01, Brian
Carpenter '01, Abigail
Wessler '03 and Korrin
Stanek '01.
Ready to play?
Many years ago, the Millikin campus was heated (what a
wonderful word!) by coal. On Jan. 7, 1907, what was MU's
total coal bill?

B. $355.78
C. $43.66
D. $210.82
Send your
answer to alumnews@mail.millikin.edu;
be sure to include your name and address. The first five
correct responders each win a little something special we'll
send once we defrost it!

Years," a book of Centennial history written by Gerald
and Barbara Redford, for this month's question. Purchase it
