Join our alumni
& friends bus trip from Decatur to
Chicago.
The day will include attending a recital by the student recipient of the
2004 Hollis Prize
(a prestigious annual award sponsored by C. Kimm Hollis 72).
The recital will be presented at the Harold
Washington Library Center Auditorium,
Chicago Public Library's central library, and is followed by a guided tour of the
Field Museum's latest exhibit "Splendors of China's
Forbidden City." Questions?

Founder's Day: Millikin celebrates its traditional Founder's
Day with an outdoor lunch on the arrival court, student
activities and the formal laying of a wreath on James
Millikin's gravesite.
May 1: On campus
In the planning stages: Millikin continues to celebrate Founder's
Day with a day of service as more than 60 youth from the Boys and Girls
Club of
Decatur come to campus for an afternoon of of fun,
student-organized activities beginning at 1 p.m. Alumni and
their families are invited to attend and have fun and/or
volunteer to help. To learn more, check back soon to the calendar

July 10: St.
Louis
Order your tickets now for Millikin Day at Busch Stadium
as the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Chicago Cubs. Tickets
for this annual event go fast, so call soon. Bus service is
available from Millikin to the game for $35; cost per ticket

Mark your calendar. Plans are being made to hold a reunion
of track & field alumni at the USATF Masters men's and

GRADUATES continue
to find success.
Despite a tight job market, 97 percent
of Millikin University’s class of 2003 have found jobs or
are continuing their education. MORE
PACE
Program
Expands to Mattoon.
MU's
Professional
Adult Comprehensive Education (PACE) program will soon offer classes at
an off-campus location in Mattoon, Ill. MORE.
In other PACE news, 16 students and three faculty members from
the program will spend spring break in the Dominican
Republic studying Caribbean culture. MORE
Top music students
compete for Hollis Prize.
Three
top students will compete for the 2004 Hollis Prize during a
recital held Saturday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Kaeuper Hall
at Perkinson Music Center. The recital is free and open to the
public. The selected student will perform in Chicago April 16
(see related article at left). MORE

Make National Presentation.
Dr. Samuel Galewsky,
associate professor of biology, and senior research student Staci Hieronymus of
Atlanta, Ill., will present
at the annual Council on Undergraduate Research on April 20. MORE

Norton Smith, executive director of the Abraham Lincoln
Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Ill., who will present
the 2004 T.W. Samuels Lecture. Smith will present "Ten

Student
TO JOIN mU BOARD.
The
Millikin board of trustees will add a new member to
their ranks this year. A Millikin student will serve as a
non-voting, ex-officio advisor, representing the student
population. Students interested in the position must submit a petition
signed by at least 100 full-time enrolled students. The student body will
then determine which
candidate will serve the one-year term from among all
nominees.
Jazz
Band, you're outstanding.
For the
second year in a row, the University's Jazz Band was
named "outstanding" at the Elmhurst Jazz
Festival. MORE

Talent, professionalism and
preparation were key factors cited when MU's theatre students
received
rave reviews during Midwest auditions held recently in St. Louis. MORE
And on March 22, six theatre students will perform before
professional agents in a showcase held on New York's famous 42
Street: Andy Bero, Sierra Boggess, Kelley Bray, Rachel Perry,
Kara Guy, Angie Smith and Kelly Carruth. Could this be their
big break? We'll keep you posted.
