O'Conner, associate professor of English, learned that he was
to boldly go right into the center of national media

PACKERS SIGN MU ALUM.
According
to published reports, former Millikin wide receiver Mike
Marker '03 signed a two-year deal with the Green Bay Packers and
will head to the NFL Europe training camp in Florida before
joining a European team this summer. He will return to Green
Bay for the Packers' training camp. Prior
to signing, Marker accepted a contract to compete with the
Packers practice squad. He caught his first practice pass from
Packers quarterback Brett Favre and was on the field for Green
Bay's final regular season game as well as the first-round
playoff loss to Minnesota.

On Feb. 7, students, faculty and staff
will join readers around the world in a daylong reading
marathon to celebrate African American literature and literacy.
