Women's basketball Team
headS to final four!
The
women's basketball team celebrates after their victory
over University of Wisconsin Stout in Grand Rapids, Mich.,
that led to their match up with Calvin College.
The
No. 6 ranked Millikin Big Blue (27-2) earned only its second
trip to the Final Four in school history with a 63-56 win over
No. 22 Calvin (25-5) on the Knights’ home court. The Big Blue
extended its win streak to 14 games and improved to a new
season win record of 27 games. Millikin will play in the Final
Four March 18-19 in Norfolk, Va. A send-off celebration was
held on campus Tuesday to cheer them on their way. MORE

Dr. Michael
Rogers, associate professor of mathematics and computer sciences,
is teaching what is undoubtedly a first for Millikin -- a course in
aviation science. Rogers, a private pilot
with a passion for flying, is teaching the appropriately named
pilot course this semester. Students are learning about the physics of flight, meteorology, navigation,
and how
air spaces and airports are run.

Fiesta in atlanta.
Atlanta-area alumni are invited to join Millikin President Doug
Zemke ‘66 and alumni, parents and friends for a Mexican
fiesta on Saturday April 23, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The event is hosted
by Millikin Trustee Joe Browning ‘70 and his wife, Carol, at their home in Canton, Ga.

SERVE
OTHERS ON APRIL 24.
On campus, April 24 has been set as a beautification day in
recognition of MU’s Founder’s Day. Local alumni and
friends are invited to come to campus from 1-4 p.m. to assist with flower
planting and other efforts that afternoon (meet at the
arrival court just outside Richards Treat University Center), and Millikin alumni
nationwide are encouraged to donate their time to plant
flowers, pick up trash and do other good works to improve the
area where they live and work. Afterwards, be sure to call the
alumni office toll free at 1-877-JMU-ALUM to report on your
good works so we can keep a grand tally.
SAE
gathers in chicagoland.
The SAE Delta
chapter will host two upcoming events. On May
12-14, in Evanston, Ill., SAEs from the '50s will gather to
renew their initiation vows at the SAE temple adjacent to
