On campus -
Homecoming! Join us for some special surprises this year, a free lunch on Saturday, plus group reunions for engineering alumni, black alumni, choir alumni, members of the '41 and '61 football teams, mid-century musicians (1945-55), SAEs of the '50s and '60s and all classes ending in 1 and 6. Sunday, Oct. 22
St. Louis - Join the Millikin Club of St. Louis for a 1 p.m. trivia contest fundraiser at Blueberry Hill, 6504 Delmar Blvd. Teams will be made up of six people. The cost is $25 per person and includes entry fee, hors d'oeuvres and beverages. All proceeds support the Gateway Scholarship for a deserving student from the St. Louis or Metro-east area. Wednesday-Sunday, Oct. 25-29 On campus - Due to an upgrade to Millikin's database, Milli-Link XP will be unavailable.

Saturday, Nov. 4

Elmhurst, IL - The annual Howard Nyberg football party will be held at the home of Matt Proud '90. This year's event is a pre-game tailgate starting at 11 a.m., preceding the 1 p.m. Big Blue vs. Elmhurst game. Bring a dish or snack to pass.

Saturday, Nov. 11
Decatur - The Millikin CIA host a football chili supper following the 1 p.m. Big Blue vs. Augustana football game. The supper will be held in Richards Treat University Center on campus. Cost is $7.50 per meal and includes chili, hot dogs, hamburgers and salad bar. Children under age 6 eat free.

HISTORIC DEBATE HELD ON CAMPUS.
Gubernatorial candidates Governor Rod Blagovich and State Treasurer Judy Barr Topinka on the Albert Taylor Theatre stage for their first radio broadcast debate.
The Illinois Radio Network broadcast a live radio debate between two of the three Illinois gubernatorial candidates in Millikin's newly remodeled Albert Taylor Theatre on Monday, Oct. 2. It was the first debate held between candidates Judy Barr Topinka, current state treasurer, and incumbent Rod Blagojevich. MORE

BREAK OUT YOUR BIG BLUE!
Homecoming 2006 is this weekend! This year's Homecoming, set to the theme, "The Road to Blue," will be held Oct. 13-15. Several new events should help make this year's Homecoming one of the best ever. Check out the Homecoming 2006 website for up-to-date Homecoming information, including this year's alumni award recipients and Millikin Athletic Hall of Fame inductees and a list of who's coming this year.

MILLIKIN TO SUPPORT
NEW STATE E-CENTER.
Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich announced $150,000 for a new entrepreneurship center in Carlinville, Ill., which will build on the efforts of the existing e-center at Millikin, to help local entrepreneurs and small business owners develop their ventures.The Carlinville Entrepreneurship Center will serve as an extension of Millikin’s Regional Center for Entrepreneurship and have access to the university's resources and expertise. STUDENTS TRAVEL, LEARN IN INDIA.
A group of Millikin students recently got a first hand opportunity to learn about the Indian people and culture during a three-week travel course to north and east India. MORE

MBA TO HOST PREVIEW NIGHT.
Millikin’s MBA program will be hosting a MBA Preview Night on Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in ADM-Scovill Hall.
The evening will allow prospective MBA students the opportunity to preview the program and get overall perspective of coursework and goals of the program. MORE

LITERARY-LY SPEAKING.
Millikin's fourth annual literary festival will be held on campus Nov. 10-11. Open to high school and college students, the festival includes sessions with several featured writers, workshops and readings. This year’s featured writers include Kevin Stein, Illinois' poet laureate, and Peter Grandbois, winner of Barnes & Noble's "Discover Great New Writers" award. MORE

OPENING RECEPTION FEATURED
LECTURE BY ARTIST'S SON.
An opening reception for "The Art of Seymour Fogel: An Atavistic Vision," was held on campus Oct. 5 at Kirkland Fine Arts Center, featuring a lecture by Jared A. Fogel, Seymour Fogel's son. The exhibit, which includes four dozen works by the nationally recognized artist Seymour Fogel (1911-1984), is on display at the Perkinson Gallery through Nov. 30. The Kirkland exhibit is the first major display of the artist's work since his death more than 20 years ago. MORE

then this Homecoming event is for you! The Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra will present an "All-Orchestral Showpieces" concert featuring music by Saint-Saens, Kodaly and Tchaikovsky on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Kirkland Fine Arts Center. Tickets range from $12 to $15 and are on sale now at Kirkland Box Office. MORE

WE'RE OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD.
The Breakfast Optimists of Decatur and Millikin's department of theatre and dance will present "Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz" Oct. 14-15, at 1 p.m. in Albert Taylor Theatre. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children, and are available at
Kirkland Box Office.
