THE HEART OF CAMPUS GETS A NAME.
On Saturday, Oct. 6, during this year's homecoming weekend, a ceremony will be held commemorating the naming of the Dr. and Mrs. J. Roger Miller Centennial Quad, in honor of Millikin’s ninth president and his wife, who are scheduled to attend the event. Miller Quad is located in the center of campus behind Shilling Hall. The 9:30 a.m. dedication ceremony is just one of more than 40 events planned for this year's homecoming. For complete details about homecoming (including online reservation forms), click here.

MILLIKIN SPANS THE GLOBE.
Several Millikin students and their professors studied abroad this summer. Recently, a group completed a trip to South Africa for a hands-on learning experience there, and a second group spent four weeks in Italy to learn and perform through the Bella Musica – Millikin in Italy program. Other summer learning experiences for students included study trips to Eastern Europe, France, Switzerland, Argentina, Ecuador and the Galapogos Islands.
100 REASONS TO CELEBRATE.
Millikin President Doug Zemke '66 and Alumni Relations Director Jan Devore stopped by the home of Ethelyn Draser Boyd of Mascoutah, Ill., in early August to help her celebrate her 100th birthday. Boyd is a 1929 MU graduate.
BIG BLUE FOOTBALL.
The 2007 version of Big Blue football will have a different look offensively, but one of the nation’s top-ranked defenses returns nearly intact and should give a young offense the chance to put all the pieces together. The Big Blue kick off the season Sept. 1 by hosting Illinois College. MORE

BACK TO SCHOOL AND BACK TO TRIVIA.
Be a winner in our back to school trivia contest..
For many years, Millikin freshmen attended an orientation program held at Allerton Park the weekend before the first day of classes, joining in a fun day of games and a chance to meet fellow classmates and MU faculty. In later years, the students joined in a closing candlelight ceremony, a tradition that continues today. What was the name of the annual program? (P.S. Students will go to Allerton this year, too, but the event now has a new name.)
