Two members of MU's Beta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, David Anderson and Robert Gregory, both ’11, were selected for the 2011 Top Teke Award. The two were among only six students selected out of more than 250,000 active members across the U.S. and Canada to receive the award.
Gregory served two years as his chapter's house manager and was a chemistry major. He was published in a journal for his research at Archer Daniels Midland Co., where he worked to develop an oil dispersant for the BP oil spill.
Anderson served as his chapter's chaplain and new member educator, as well as the IFC vice president of recruitment. He was a Presidential Scholar, a member of the "Most Outstanding Team" at the 2011 Illinois Moot Court Competition and founded Millikin’s Student Honors Advisory Council.
Their selection continues a legacy of national honors for the Millikin TKE chapter. Last year, Sam Osborne ’10, MU's new men’s golf coach, was chosen as a national Top Teke, and in 2008, the entire MU chapter was recognized as a Top Teke Chapter.
