Are you ready to be a Big Blue mentor? Join our new Mentoring Network, a service to assist students and alumni in finding mentors who can advise and support them in their professional development.

Mentors may offer one or more of the following avenues of assistance: graduate school information and advice, leads to internship and jobs, practice interviews, resume critiques, job-shadowing and networking opportunities.

It’s coming…are you ready to Catch the Fever at Homecoming 2012?

Homecoming 2012 is right around the corner, and if you're looking for a great trip down memory lane, be sure to stop by the Staley Library archives, open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6.

You won't want to miss this blast from the past, so join your classmates on the first floor of Staley Library to explore MU's collection of historical memorabilia.

Visiting the archives is just one of dozens of activities scheduled for this year's Homecoming. Browse the complete schedule.

Homecoming 2012 welcomes the Black Alumni Network!

A new Black Alumni Network has been launched to facilitate networking and relationship building among black alumni and current students of color. The new network plans to host a number of Homecoming events and will also host a scholarship weekend next spring.

Great music, food and so much more!

Attention Decatur-area alumni: Join us for a Young Alumni gathering at the Oakwood Street Festival on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 5:30 p.m. – midnight.

Enjoy a collection of bands filled with Millikin alumni and faculty talent. Stop by the Millikin booth for Donnie's Homespun Pizza and Lock Stock & Barrel food coupons, as well as information about the Loyal Blue Club, Homecoming 2012 and the recently-launched Mentoring Network.

Welcome students!

Millikin will welcome the class of 2016 to campus with First Week activities starting Monday, Aug. 20, for honors residential students, and Tuesday, Aug. 21 for traditional residential students. First Week activities are designed to help freshmen get a jump start on their college experience with team-building exercises and informational sessions.

Classes will begin Monday, Aug. 27 for all students.

Trivia Time

The Alumni & Development Office has been buzzing about the 2012 Olympics in London. Lance Brooks '06 made us proud in the discus event, but he wasn't the first Big Blue athlete to make an appearance in the Olympics. Marcia Morey '78 was Millikin's first Olympian. What was her sport?
