Dr. Jay E. Hakes will present the 2011 T.W. Samuels Lecture, “The World We Inherit: Why Energy Matters,” Monday, April 18, 8 p.m. in Kirkland Fine Arts Center.

 

An energy and policy expert, he recently served as director of policy and research for the 2010-2011 BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Commission. The Commission’s report was described by the Washington Post as the “most comprehensive narrative of what happened … a clear, readable, insightful tale.” The lecture is free and open to the public.
