Plan now to jazz up your spring!

Help celebrate 50 years of jazz at Millikin on Saturday, April 13. All alumni who have participated in MU’s jazz program are invited to the celebration, which begins with lunch at noon, followed by a Jazz Band rehearsal (for those still actively playing) from 1:30-3:30 p.m., and a commemorative concert at 7:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The concert will feature One Voice, Jazz Band I and alumni jazz members.Then cap off the evening with a reception at the alumni and development center.

I would also love to see a vocal opportunity for alums of the early vocal jazz ensembles of the 80' and 90's. I live 6 hours away and would love to be there, but a chance to sing again with other alums would make the drive even more worthwhile!

Jan Devore here.. Steve Widenhofer and I have conferred and determined there is ample interest for an alumni jazz ensemble to perform on the 50 Years of Millikin Jazz program. Watch your mail for more information. Letters will be sent by the end of February with the full schedule for Sat, April 13 and an opportunity for active singers to be a part of a group for perform a couple of numbers.
