Juanita Elaine Casey, 89 of Decatur, passed away at 10:19 am Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Juanita was born on January 9, 1922 in Hinton, IL. a daughter of James Clarence and Veva May (Bridgman) Isome. She served in the U.S. Navy W.A.V.E. from 1944 to 1946. She had worked at Brownie Coal Co., Decatur Bottling Company, Murphy, Jenne and Jones, Decatur Public Library, James Millikin University and Dunham School Services.
Juanita was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed mini band concerts very much. She also belonged to the Macon County Historical Society since 1979, member of the Decatur Genealogical Society for many years. She gave her heart to the Lord in January of 1985, and realized God’s leading, guiding and directing to all throughout life and being abundant by blessings all these years. She married Ronald Gene Appelt on January 31, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1963. She later married Wilbur Earl Casey on August 14, 1964. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1976.
Surviving are her brothers James R. Isome and his wife Imogene of Mt. Zion, IL., and Floyd Earl Isome of Deltona, FL., sister Joanne Harbinson and her husband Norm of Sierra Vista, AZ., and seven nieces and nephews.
