Dorothy Jane Moon, 85, of Springfield, the last surviving daughter of George W. “Whitey” and Nellie Frances (Stewardson) Williams, died Monday (November 28, 2011) at her residence.

She was born November 25, 1926, in Shelbyville. She married Byron F. Moon September 5, 1948 in Shelbyville and he preceded her in death May 26, 2009.

She was a member of the First Central Baptist Church in Springfield.

Surviving are son, Greg Moon of Springfield; daughter, Rebecca Kevin Beck of Springfield; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Evelyn Yager and Kathryn Courtright.
