Dorothy Dayvault Powell of Hunt, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2011 in Kerrville. She was born in Wichita Falls to Earl and Aline Dayvault on February 9, 1931. She was married for 56 years to Paul Powell.
She grew up in Houston and graduated from Lamar High School in 1949. She attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and the University of Texas in Austin.
She enjoyed traveling and living overseas with her family. She was a dedicated member of the Hunt Garden Club, a master gardener, a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by husband, Paul; daughters, Christie and Emily; sister, Kathryn Hooper and grandchildren, Andrew and Lilly Van Hyfte.
