John Moreland Bailey, 61, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Manor Care Nursing in Naperville. He was born Nov. 6, 1950, in Galesburg, Ill.
John was the cherished husband of Sarah E. Bailey, to whom he was married for 35 years; beloved brother of Caroline (Michael) Hornblow of Pittsboro, N.C., Debbie (Albert) Stolper of Pittsboro, N.C. and William (Missy) Bailey of Minnetonka, Minn.; and dear uncle of seven nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Dorcas M. Bailey.
John was a 1973 graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. He worked for Millikin University in admissions; as an advance person for former First Lady Rosalyn Carter; Pan American World Airways; Burlington Air Express; and United Parcel Service. He served on the Board of Directors of the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago.
John's favorite charity was the Pastors' Discretionary Fund at Knox Presbyterian Church.
