MAUREEN H. GARREN

Maureen Helen Garren, nee O'Connor, passed away peacefully September 29, 2010. Born August 21, 1937 in Chicago to John and Patronella (Gadams) O'Connor. Maureen grew up in Homewood, IL, attended St Joseph's grade school, Aquinas H.S., graduated in 1955 from Thornton H.S. In 1959 she graduated from Millikin U., Decatur, IL. Married in 1960 to the late James Garren and resided in Park Forest. She taught school in the area and retired to Yuma, AZ. where she was active in various social organizations and Immaculate Conception Parish. Maureen loved reading, movies, and travel and adored her family. She enjoyed cooking and her recipes are world famous. Muti's warmth and generosity earned her innumerable friends who will miss her terribly. Maureen is survived by her children, Jill (Richard) Pentecost, Timothy (Barbara Ann) and John (Amy); grandmother of Brigitte, Amelia, Michael, Anthony, Joshua and Nicholas; she is the adored sister of David (Celia) O'Connor, the late Thomas O'Connor, Margaret (James) Hermesdorf, Kathleen (Greg) Helge and Michael O'Connor; fond aunt of 21 nieces and nephews.
