Audrey Lynn was born on February 2, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri. Audrey was one of seven children born to L.C. and Charles Etta Smith.
Audrey attended Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, where she received several Certificate of Awards for maintaining a distinguished record of Academic Excellence. Audrey's name was added to the Dean's list. During her time at Millikin she began a member of Delta Sigma Theta.
Audrey accepted Christ as her Savior, was baptized into the Body of Christ. She became a member of the Circle of Light Church located at 8759 Annetta under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey Johnson. Later in life, she became a member of House of Harvest, located at 3215 Dunn Road under the leadership of Pastor Paul Meriwether.
After returning from Tennessee, Audrey knew her health was failing. One of her requests was to have her Homecoming Service at the family home church, Tabernacle of Faith and Deliverance under the leadership of Pastor William Bayless.
Audrey departed this life on Monday May 21, 2012.
Her father L.C., mother, Charlesetta, and a brother, Matthew Allen all preceded her in death. Audrey never had any children of her own but she was a mother figure to many.
To cherish her memory and celebrate her Homecoming, she leaves three brothers: Lawrence C. Smith Sr., Gregory C. Smith, and Wayne K. Smith; two sisters, Sandra E. Edwards and Angela D. Miller; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn, Jacqueline and Felicitas; one brother-in-law, Ronald; three foster sisters, Hope, Monica, and Kimberley; two aunts, Emma and Berneice; one uncles, Jesse, all of Illinois; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a honorary friend/sister, Georgia Wilhite.
