Mt. Zion, IL
Thomas Dale Propst 69, of Mt. Zion passed away at 11:28 p.m., October 15, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Tom was born July 5, 1943 in Braidwood, IL the son of Harry and Lucille (Hamm) Propst. He married Marilyn K. Lewis on June 26, 1965. Tom was a graduate of Lakeland Community College and attended Eastern Illinois University. He was a Systems Technician for Illinois Bell/Ameritech and retired in 1994. He was a member of IBEW Local 399 and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Tom had a passion for traveling and had visited most all of the states and Europe with his family. He enjoyed many activities including bowling, golfing, camping, and boating. He was an avid baseball fan and always cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals. Tom also loved computer technology and enjoyed watching movies. He was a wonderful chef and grill master. Tom would love to watch the food network, read cookbooks and try out many delicious recipes.
Tom is survived by his wife: Marilyn of Mt. Zion; son: Brad Propst of Mason, Ohio; daughter: Dr. Erika Leisner and her husband Cale of Columbia, MO;
Grandchildren: Kayla Propst of Batavia, OH and Noah Leisner of Columbia, MO; Aunt: Frances "Joan" Shaw of Decatur; brother: Warren Arthur Propst and his wife Carolyn of Florida, sisters: Mary Roady and her husband George of North Carolina and Sue Clark and her husband Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
