Mary L. Pease, 83, passed away May 25, 2010. Mary was born Dec. 9, 1926, in East St. Louis, Ill., to James and Helen Leigh.
She spent her early years in Illinois, New York, Indiana and California. She moved to Longview, Wash., in 1977.
A graduate of James Millikin University and a Pi Beta Phi alumni, she remained active with her sorority sisters for many years.
She married Calvin D. Pease July 7, 1947. Mary is survived by her husband of 62 happy years. She was the proud mother of four children, James D. Pease of Longview; Martha S. Hussey of Martinez, Calif.; Matthew M. Pease of Lafayette, Calif.; and Andrew A. Pease of Rome, Ga.; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James, and sister-in-law, Florence who reside in Indianapolis.
Mary was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church as well as a sacristan and served on the Altar Guild for many years. She and Denny belonged to the Longview Country Club where she was an avid golfer and bridge player. She served on many committees and was proud of her two holes-in-one at the Longview Country Club. She was a bronze life master with the ACBL (American Contract Bridge League). She was also very active in the League of Women Voters.
Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother, and a friend to all she met. She will be missed by all, but remembered fondly by many.
