Helen G. Young

Helen Grace Hackman Eddy Young 81, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, December 4, 2006. She was born January 16, 1925 in Virginia, Illinois to the late Orville and Hattie Mae Etchison Hackman. Helen attended Millikin University and graduated from St. John's School of Nursing in Springfield, IL. She worked as a Registered Nurse from 1947 until 1979 and she helped found the R.N. Private Duty Registry. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, where she served as an usher and greeter, and belonged to the Prime Timers group. Helen is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Young; sons, John and Donald Eddy; daughter, Deanna Burris; five grandchildren, Brian and Erica Raybourn, Brandon and Brittany Burris, Robert Eddy; great-grandson, Xavior Burris; niece, Janet Haglock; and nephews, Gerald Davis and Richard Hackman. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's School of Nursing or Christ Presbyterian Church.
