William "Bill" Cull, 82, of Rockford died at 11:05 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012, in Wesley Willows Health Center, due to complications of Parkinson disease. Born Nov. 20, 1929, in Springfield; the son of William A. and Elizabeth A. (Close) Cull Sr. Served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Kay Nelson Cull on April 29, 2006, in Hot Springs Village, Ariz. Bill earned his bachelor's degree from Millikin University in 1952, and his master's degree in theology from Garrett Evangelical Seminary in 1959. He was a United Methodist pastor for 54 years, retiring in 2003. Bill served many churches throughout his career, including: pastor of Sherman Methodist Church, Sherman; pastor of Rural Methodist Church, Southern; youth minister of Edison Park Methodist Church, Edison Park; pastor of Community Methodist Church, South Elgin; pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, Chicago; program staff member of Northern Illinois Conference of UMC; senior pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Rockford; senior pastor of First United Methodist Church, Arlington Hts.; and associate pastor of Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church, Hot Springs Village, Ariz. Member of the Northern Illinois Conference of United Methodist Churches. Survived by wife, Kay; daughters, Jennifer Ann (Greg) Meyer of Dubuque, Iowa and Staci Lyn (Kevin) McCormack of Castle Rock, Colo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Delores Kramer of Pawley's Island, S.C.
