Marlene R. Munsterman, 90, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Marlene was born November 24, 1922, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Edgar H. and Laura (Montagne) Chicoine. She was a graduate of Resurrection High School in Lansing, MI and attended Millikin University. Marlene worked at the ammunition plant in Illiopolis during WWII as a secretary and retired from the Decatur Public School District. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, and served many years on the board of MCSEFCU. Marlene married Harold Munsterman May 14, 1949, in Decatur and he preceded her in death May 30, 1983.
Surviving is her daughter, Karen (David) Martin of Decatur; sons: Dennis (Denise) Munsterman of Bonney Lake, WA, Gary (Marlene) Munsterman of Concord, CA, and Ronald Munsterman of Decorah, IA; grandchildren: Nathan (Katie) Martin, Kevin (fiancé, Abby) Martin, Andrew Martin, Kelsy Munsterman, and Katrina Munsterman; sisters-in-law: Beatrice Chicoine of Boulder, CO, and Catherine Chicoine of Libertyville; 20 nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Madonna, and brothers: Harvey, Duane, and Gordon.
