James "Jim" Belk, 47, of Las Vegas, adoring father, husband, brother, son, son-in-law, uncle and friend, passed away Sept. 3, 2013.
Born and raised in Rockford, Ill., a 1988 graduate of Milliken University, Decatur, Ill., he also earned a masters degree in music from UNLV in 2008. An exceptional drummer with many bands, headliners and shows on the Las Vegas strip, Jim was also an accomplished copyist, bandleader, arranger and composer. Working extensively with Grammy winner David Foster on many live shows as lead copyist, Jim was one of Las Vegas's most respected musicians.
Forever remembered by his wife, Megan; and their beloved daughters, Andress and Eliza. He is also survived by his parents, Bobby and Mary Belk; brothers, Mike (Lisa) Belk, Bill (Tammy) Belk and Craig (Judy) Belk; sister, Sandy (Brad) Ohs; parents-in-law, Barbara Hart and Wes and Sue Hart; nine nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
