Helen Marie Coslow, 85, of Lovington died 12:10 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011, at her home in Lovington.

Helen was born in Decatur on Nov. 26, 1926, the daughter of Raymond S. and Beatrice (Drake) Penn.

She married Herbert H. Coslow July 3, 1954, in Decatur. He preceded her in death January 10, 1998.

Helen was a member of the Lovington Christian Church, Lovington (secretary for eighteen years), American Legion Auxiliary #429, Lovington, Lovington Women's Club, Moultrie County Republican Women, Moultrie County Retired Teachers, Illinois Retired Teachers Association and Order of the Eastern Star No. 869 for sixty years.

She attended Millikin University and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in education. She previously taught in Washburn and Lovington High School.

She is survived by her daughter, Annette M. Coslow. She was preceded in death by her parents.
