Robert L. McCauley, 77, of Springfield died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, at his home.

He was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Springfield, Mo., the son of Walter and Florence Moss McCauley . He married Yvonne Young in 1949 in Springfield.

Mr. McCauley was a U.S. Navy veteran and a buyer in the purchasing office of Central Illinois Public Service Co., now AmerenCIPS, retiring in 1989 after 40 years.

He was a former master of Cub Scouts pack 6, and he managed a Khoury League baseball team. He was a member of the Springfield Sportsman Conservation Club and a former member of Jerome Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survivors: wife, Yvonne; two sons, Mark McCauley of Belleville and David (wife, Jan) McCauley of Fremont, Ind.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
