Millikin University Dance Team Information |
The Millikin Dance Team consists of approximately 24 members. Dance team performs at athletic events – men's and women’s basketball home games, football games and other Millikin events such as the Homecoming Talent Show.
Practice Schedule
The Millikin Dance team practices a minimum of three times
per week. Practices usually are Sunday, Monday and Wednesdays based on availability of facilities.
Expenses
Millikin Dance Team members are provided uniforms. Dancers are responsible for their camp fees and the
purchase of their own dance shoes deemed acceptable for team
performances.
Dance Camp
Millikin Dance Team members are invited to attend the Universal Dance
Association college camp at Southwest Missouri State.
Competitions
The Millikin Dance team competes against other college teams in the
Universal Dance Association (UDA) dance camp Home Routine Contest. The
Millikin Dance Team received a first-place Open Division trophy which qualified them for UDA Nationals at Summer Camp 2007. The Millikin
Dance Team will also attend area CCIW Conference Competitions.
Fundraising
The Millikin Dance Team fund raise in order to supplement their
budget to offset expenses for uniforms, camps and competitions.
Leadership
The Millikin Dance Team Captains for the 2007-08 year are Stephanie Ethridge, Sarah Bylsma and Amy Gagnon.
