Griswold Center is perfect for the intercollegiate athlete or intramural player. Griswold Center houses a 3,052-seat gymnasium and three regulation-size courts. Millikin hosts several high school tournaments and games each year including the annual IHSA Class A Super-Sectionals.
The men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball and men's wrestling teams also compete in Griswold Center's gym and its six-lane McIntosh Pool is home to the Big Blue men's and women's swim teams. The building also houses classrooms, staff offices, athletic training facilities and locker rooms. Recent renovations to the gym include new bleachers on the west side, a fresh coat of paint, a new gym floor design and new scoreboards.
Frank M. Lindsay Field and Track & Field Complex (Directions)
Located just north of the Griswold Center, Frank M. Lindsay Field is home to football and track and field programs. The stadium seats 4,000, including seating for 2,300 spectators on the west side. Lindsay Field also includes a state-of-the art press box, concession stand and restrooms under the southwest corner of the grandstand.
Frank M. Lindsay Field's facilities are among the best in the region. The 8-lane, all weather track provides a polyurethane running surface, like that seen at Olympic training center and competition favorites. The track features space for concurrent male and female competition, multidirectional runaways for field events and curbing channel drains to ensure proper drainage. Areas have also been developed for the throwing events such as the shot put and discus. Security lighting has been provided for evening use.
In July of 2000 and 2001, Millikin hosted the USATF Youth Athletic Championships on the track and in May 2001 and 2004 the Big Blue welcomed the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.
The Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC) was built as a joint project of the Decatur Park District and Millikin University. The 87,000 square foot building is an on-campus athletic facility. The DISC houses Millikin intramurals and indoor practices for track, baseball, softball, and soccer.
The Center facilities include a 4 lane, 200-meter competition grade Mondo track, which includes a 6-lane sprint straightaway, a jumping pit and vaulting area. The infield of the track includes a soccer field with dasher boards and basketball and volleyball courts. Golf practice and instruction facilities include: putting greens, driving nets with a swing analyzer, two virtual golf simulators, a net enclosure for practice using pitching and sand wedges, complete with a sand trap and rough areas. There are also two batting/pitching cages, with a coin operated pitching machines. All from which can be viewed from the concession stand area on the upper deck.
The Dorothy McClure/ Ralph Allen Fitness-Wellness center includes cardiovascular and strength training equipment. The cardiovascular equipment includes: stationary bikes, recumbent bikes, stairmasters, treadmills, elliptical machines, and an upper extremity ergometer. The strength training area includes machine weights, exercise stations and free weights and platforms. The company that provided plates for the Sydney Olympic Games designed the weight plates for Millikin University.
The secondary gym for basketball/volleyball has a spike-able surface and can be used for the high jump for indoor track and field competitions.
The DISC is located on the south side of campus.
To the south, behind the DISC, is the home of the Big Blue soccer teams. Play began at the complex in 2003 and the fields have seen continued improvements. In Summer 2006, the soccer facility underwent renovations that included covered dugouts, landscaping, fencing and electricity for a new irrigation system. A second playing surface will be ready for use in Fall 2007.
Rotary Park (Directions)
The Decatur Park District's Rotary Park became the new home to Millikin women's softball team for the 2007 season. Rotary Park is located on the south edge of Decatur just off Route 51.
Located on Decatur's west side, Sunnyside Park is home to the Millikin men's baseball team. The Decatur Park District's top baseball field is also home to the Decatur American Legion teams and was the former home of the Decatur Blues of the Central Illinois Collegiate League.
The Fairview Park Tennis complex is located in Fairview Park just west of the Millikin campus. In addition to being the home for the Millikin women's tennis team, each summer the complex hosts the Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic.
Millikin's cross country teams utilize Fairview Park and its series of bike trails for many of their practices. Fairview park is located across Fairview avenue from the university.
Fairview Park is 190 acres of green space devoted to family recreation.
Its pavilions are host to many gatherings, and youngsters enjoy trying
to lure "big ones" from Dreamland Lake. Walkers, runners, and bikers
enjoy a paved trail which winds throughout Fairview Park, crosses Stevens
Creek and traces the historic Interurban Railway. The Trail leads through
Kiwanis Park, another favorite training spot for the Big Blue and to
the Macon County Conservation District Bikeway at Rock Springs Environmental
Center. Rock Springs is also utilized by the Big Blue cross country
teams for practice with its network of trails some paved, but most either
dirt or grass trails.
Hickory Point Golf Course (Directions)
The Hickory Point Golf Course is home of the golf and cross-country teams. The Big Blue cross-country teams hosts the Millikin Classic cross-country meet at Hickory Point golf course, located in Forsyth. The course is 5,000 meter for women and 8,000 meter for men.
Hickory Point is, a 6, 885 yard golf course, considered a course for the beginner and the competitive golfer. Hickory's flat, wide fairways are perfect for learning, while long distances provide challenges for the experiences golfers.
Hickory Point was the site of the 1998 CCIW Conference cross-country championships, as well as high school regionals and sectionals. The golf course also serves as the home course for the Big Blue's men's and women's golf teams, and the site for the 2001 NCAA Division III Women' Golf Championships. Annually, the course is a stop on the Women's Futures Tour.
The hilly, tree-lined fairways and rolling greens of Scovill Golf Course is the home to both the men's and women's golf teams. The teams conduct their practices at Scovill as well as having some tournaments there.
Red Tail Run Golf
Club is located just five miles from the Millikin campus and provides
three?tee selections from 5,104 to 7,309 yards on the 72-par course.
Designed by legendary Hall of Famer Raymond Floyd, this signature course
is carved from the native prairie lands, featuring large undulating
greens, wide rolling fairways and native grasses. Located on Decatur's
south side, Red Tail Run Golf Club is designed for players of all skill
levels from the novice to the champion.

In addition to the Fairview Tennis Complex, the Millikin women's tennis team can train at the Wood Street Tennis Facility located on campus or the Decatur Athletic Club's indoor tennis facility that is perfect for workouts during bad weather and the winter months.
