 In 2007, Big Blue Football had seven players named to All-CCIW teams with three returning to the field in 2008. After the graduations of two players who signed European football contracts, and another who earned all-region honors, head coach Doug Neibuhr’s underclassmen will be expected to accept more pivotal roles. On the offensive side, the Big Blue is young but talented in the skill positions and will count on an offensive line that returns only one starter but will be of similar size and strength to the storied lines of Millikin’s past. On defense, the Big Blue returns the entire secondary and one linebacker with the development of the defensive line being key to its success. Millikin’s football program is steeped in tradition, winning 11 CCIW titles in its history. In the last nine seasons, Millikin’s Big Blue has won two CCIW titles and made two NCAA appearances. |
