Coach's Corner

Sadly (for us) the Little Hoopsters basketball program is over.  For the past six weeks, our team has worked at the Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC) to introduce (in some cases) and refine (in other cases) the basketball knowledge, skills and passions of nearly 100 Little Hoopsters (three years old through the sixth grade).  Ally James, a sophomore Early Childhood Education major organized the groups, created handouts, “homework”, Certificates of Appreciation, and treats for the entire Little Hoopsters program.  Her leadership and willingness to be a role-model educator is the foundation of the program.  Thanks Ally!!

Name:  Ally James

Year:  Sophomore

Hometown:  Oak Forest, IL

High School:  Seton Academy High School

Major:  Early Childhood Education

Interesting facts:  Grandpa David Rayhill (Class of ’58) and Grandpa Roger James (Class of ’57) are Millikin alumni.  Ally and her 2 siblings who have attended high school each chose a different parochial school (Mount Carmel HS, Seton Academy, Marist High School).  Her eighth grade sister has her choices narrowed down to two.
