Coach's Corner

Wow!! Hard to believe that summer is gone, the books are open, and I am starting to hear basketballs bouncing in the gym again! Sure enough, another academic year has begun. The roster shows 25 student-athletes (five juniors, nine sophomores, eight freshmen, one transfer, and two students who were on-campus last season, but did not play women's basketball).

Although the team has not yet started practice, I see a lot of women's basketball players in the weight room, on the track, and in the gym as I am wandering around campus keeping in touch with the fall sports.

Remembering September 11 th

September 11 th is one of the dates in history that most people will forever remember what they were doing. During this time, it is important for all of us to take the time to be thankful for our opportunities.

When I Grow Up I Want to Wear the Blue

Every youngster hopes to grow up to be tall enough, fast enough, strong enough to be a successful athlete; I wish I could tell them when they are young that the size of the heart and the willingness to commit to the greater good that will define their success..not only in athletics, but in life.

She Ain't Heavy, She's My Sister

Captain's conditioning has begun and classes are in full swing; there will be a time when every student needs support; I hope that the women's basketball team is a caring, compassionate, approachable, and safe group for students to find the extra push they need.
