Former Millikin swimming standout Paul Yemm takes over the swimming program starting with the 2008-09 season. Yemm returned to the Big Blue swim team in 2007-08 as an assistant coach after serving as Interim Head Coach from November 2006 to June 2007.
A four-year letter winner for the Big Blue, Yemm was the team’s Most Valuable Swimmer as a senior and was a three-time NCAA qualifier in his career. As a senior, he placed 18th in NCAA Division III’s 200 fly event while also swimming the 50 free and 100 fly at the national meet. During his junior season in 2004-05, he earned Honorable Mention All-America honors for his 14th place finish in the 200 fly. As a freshman, he swam the 200 IM, 100 fly and 200 fly at the NCAA Championships. He was named the CCIW meet’s Most Outstanding male swimmer as a sophomore and won five CCIW titles, including four straight in the 200 fly. His freshman season’s time of 1:52.72 set a new Millikin and CCIW record. In addition to his record in the 200 fly, Yemm was a member of the Big Blue’s 200 and 400 medley relay teams that set new Millikin records in 2004-05.
Yemm graduated from Millikin in December 2006 with a degree in chemistry with a business emphasis.
