Mike Poe begins his 25th season as Big Blue wrestling coach in 2007-08. The Millikin alumnus has coached 32 conference champions and five All-Americans and was himself named the 2003-04 CCIW and NCAA Regional Coaches of the Year.

Throughout his tenure the Big Blue has consistently placed in the first division at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships, including second place finishes in four of the last six seasons. The Big Blue has also recorded nine third-place finishes under Poe. The second-place finish in 2001-02 was the team's best in 13 years since the team finished second in 1988-89. The winningest coach in Big Blue wrestling history, Poe boasts a 155-136-1 (.534) career record.

In addition to coaching Millikin wrestling, Poe teaches science at Springfield Southeast High School. He has previously taught and coached at Niantic-Harristown and Warrensburg-Latham High Schools and is an assistant coach for the Big Blue football team. He is a 1974 Millikin graduate.
