Steve Golas joined the Big Blue in August 2006 as Millikin's first full-time women's soccer coach. He also serves as an assistant coach for the track and field teams.


Golas comes to Millikin after most recently serving as a staff coach for the Chicago Blast Soccer Club and clinician for Soccer Made in America. Golas helped direct the Blast to a National Soccer Indoor Championship in February 2006.


An experienced college soccer and track coach, he spent two years as the assistant women’s soccer coach at NCAA Division II Angelo State University. While at Angelo State, Golas helped guide the program to its highest-ever regional ranking and the first-ever back-to-back 10-win seasons. Golas received head coaching experience in both soccer and track at William Penn University where his men’s soccer team finished second in the Midwest Classic Conference (MCC) and he was named the MCC Track Coach of the Year. Golas has also coached women’s soccer at Bemidji State University.


Golas earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Coe College where he was a four-year varsity letter winner in soccer and a three-year varsity letter winner in track. He has a Master of Science in Sports Studies from Bemidji State. Golas and his wife Becky live in Decatur.
