Tisha Hess,
MS, ATC, Program Director/ Head Athletic Trainer

Tisha Hess joined the Millikin staff in June of 1999. Hess, a Teutopolis native, is the Program Director/ Head Athletic Trainer in the Department of Exercise Science and Sport. She teaches within the curriculums of both the Athletic Training major as well as the Physical Education/    Teacher Education major. Hess is a 1998 cum laude graduate of Millikin University where she  earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training and endorsements in Health and Driver Education. During her tenure at Millikin, she was also a member of the Big Blue tennis and softball teams. Hess obtained her Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Illinois University in 1999. Tisha's hobbies include woodworking, home remodeling, and collecting Harley Davidson paraphernalia.

Noel Neptune,

MEd, ATC
Assistant Athletic Trainer, Clinical Instructor

 

 

 

Noel Neptune joined the Millikin University Athletic Training staff in August of 2004.  Neptune, a Barnesville, Ohio native, is an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Exercise Science and Sport.  She is a 2002 graduate of Wilmington College of Ohio, a CAAHEP accredited institution, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.  While at Wilmington, her senior research project, “The Effects Of Lower Extremity Proprioceptive Wobble Board Training On Speed During A Soccer Agility Test”, was published in the Journal of Athletic Training.  Neptune obtained her Master of Education degree in Sports and Recreation Management in 2004 from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. In her spare time, Noel enjoys biking and reading.

Trevor Bates,

MS, ATC

Assistant Athletic Trainer, Clinical Instructor

 

Trevor M. Bates takes on a full time position at Millikin University in August 2005 after serving in various capacities at MU over the past three years.  Trevor is a Chicago, IL native, he spent most of his school age years in Kansas City, KS.Trevor earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Millikin University where he was a Magna cum Laude graduate.  While at Millikin he was Sports Medicine Club president, an EDGE mentor, a student teaching assistant and an employee of the student fitness/wellness center at the DISC.  Trevor earned his Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  While in graduate school he taught within the Department of Kinesiology, was an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Adapted Varsity Athletics Program and engaged in various research projects.  A highlight for Trevor while in graduate school was being the Athletic Trainer for the 3X National Champion Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team (2004) and for the USA Paralympic Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Try-Outs (2004).Before coming to Millikin full time he worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital (DMH) as a Staff Athletic Trainer.   At DMH, he was the Head Athletic Trainer at Lincoln College and provided rehabilitation services to a diverse population both at Kenwood Medical Center and the Sports Enhancement Center.  His special interests include injury rehabilitation and adapted athletics.
