Credit & Financial Information
College students may receive credit for the language and music components of the program by paying summer school tuition through Millikin University. Millikin students can fulfill both the off-campus learning requirement and part of the language/culture track of MPSL. Additional college credits may be applied to individual Millikin plans of study.
Tuition and fees include 4 credits of Italian and 3 credits of music.
Millikin 2006 immersion/summer school tuition for music courses:
- $265.00 for 1 credit course
- $520.00 for 2 credit course
- $795.00 for 3 credit course
Credits taken beyond the minimum 7 credits will cost an extra $265 per credit hour.
Fees include a $200 Study Abroad administrative program fee.
- Liberal Arts: Euro 840 ($1060) plus ceramics or cookery course
- Instrumentalists: Euro 840 ($1060)
- Pianists: Euro 970 ($1225)
- Vocalists: Euro 1125 ($1420)

A limited number of merit scholarships are available based on talent and need.
Millikin students must purchase an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) for $22 from Marsha Leach, Director of International Studies, Staley Library 105.

For vocalists, pianists, and instrumentalists, the following is included in the fee:
- 3 music credits in your chosen specialty
- Italian course – 25 hours of Italian language and culture per week (4 credits)
- Italian textbook and teaching materials
- Use of facilities, including space for individual practice
- Concerts – posters, in-house programs, transportation to concert venues outside of Urbania
Liberal Arts tuition includes an elective art course in Ceramics, Painting, or Cooking.
The Credit in Escrow option is available to high school seniors who wish to earn college credit that will be held by Millikin for use at Millikin or other accepting higher education institution. The student must be in the upper third of her/his high school class and must be recommended by their high school principal or counselor.

Housing
Housing costs range from $340 - $842 for a 4 week session. Payment is due on arrival in Urbania. Options:
- Double room in a shared apartment with other students 269 Euro per person ($340)
- Single room in a shared apartment with other students 390 Euro per person ($492)
- Bed and breakfast with host family in a single room 408 Euro per person ($515)
- Bed and breakfast with host family in a double room 356 Euro per person ($449)
- Half board with a host family in a single room 668 Euro per person ($842)
- Half board with a host family in a shared room 616 Euro per person ($767)
- One-room furnished apartment for two people 620 Euro ($782)

- One-room furnished apartment for one person 484 Euro ($610)

Utilities are included in the above prices.
High school students are encouraged to board with a host family.

Additional Expenses:
- Airfare $1200 – 1500 (Chicago to Rome -rates subject to change)
You must make your own travel reservations. You will be notified if group rate becomes available.
- Passport $60 (should be getting it now)
- Bus from Rome airport to Urbania on Saturday, July 1: $50. Pay on bus.
- Bus from Urbania to Rome airport on Saturday, July 29: $50. Pay on bus.
- Food approximately $500 ($20 a day for 30 days) You are on your own for food.\
- Cultural Excursions: $18 Wednesday half-day trips, $30 Sunday full day trips. These are optional but highly recommended. They are offered weekly to historic/cultural sites.
- Miscellaneous costs such as telephone card, and souvenirs.
