The
Birks Museum was dedicated on May 23, 1981, and is housed
in what was the reading room of the University's second library,
in Gorin Hall.
The
exhibit space takes great advantage of the soaring ceilings,
exquisite woodwork on the walls, and simple peacefulness of
this space.
The
parts of the collections which are not displayed are meticulously
stored in what was the library's book stacks.
