Conversation on Race
For the past 4 years, Millikin University, in conjunction with Richland Community College and Decatur Public School District 61 has provided a two-part series addressing race relations in the Decatur community. These events take place in the spring semester and are free and open to the public. Emerging Greek Leadership Retreat
The Emerging Greek Leadership Retreat is a three day leadership program that provides our fraternity and sorority community with the opportunity to critically explore their own leadership experience as well as the value added in the Millikin community. To assist with delivering the message, we welcome regional/national representatives from our organizations to facilitate. Emerging Leader Retreat
The Emerging Leader Retreat is a two day experience where new leaders are able to explore skills to be an effective leader. Student Senate members provide a peer to peer mentor experience to the participants. Topics have included time management, civic responsibility, and exploring small group communication skills. Food for Thought Series
This lunch hour series provides participants to explore different multicultural topics. Topics have ranged from male engagement to exploring poverty in the community. The Leadership Series provides student leaders and organizations with the opportunity to explore a variety of different topics. Risk Management Training
Risk Management training is required each semester for recognized student organizations. This 90 minute presentation addresses how to deal with difficult situations as a student organization as well as the untended harm that occurs through failing to hold members accountable.
